('A' referred to in the Draft Despatch.)

sir.

Hongkong, 25th. November, 1902.

I have the honor to submit an application in

regard to my Government services.

My initial appointment was in ne Folice Force

of Hongkong, which I joined on the 29th. December, 1890, and re-

-signed on the 12th. September, 1896.

During the greater part of this time, I also

assisted in the Tire Brigade Department.

On theist. March, 1890, I was attached to the

Sanitary Department as Acting Inspector of arkets and resigned

therefrom on the 5th. day of Larch, 1396, in order to join the

Royal Naval Yard Police Force as Chief Inspector.

The first 6 months of this appointment was on

probation and during that period my name continued to stand in the

Hongkong Police books, and, had I elected, I was then entitled to

rejoin that Department. However, I continued with the llaval Author.

-ities for over 5 years, and resined on the 31st. lay, 1901.

Since that date I have again been under the Sanitary Department as Inspector of Larkets.

I have thus had a period of 12 years un-

-interrupted Government service in hongkong, and although the

whole of that time could scarcely be called Colonial Government service,

nevertheless, it has all been under the British Govern-

-ment.

Well, Sir, to come to the point, while yet looking forward to many years active service in hongkong, I am desirous of securing for myself and family the advantages that would accrue to a Government servant of 12 years standing in this Colony, and I would respectfully request you to forward this my application for that purpose, to the proper authorities.

he Colonial Veterinary Surgeon.
